The strike greatly spares the Nancy-Luxembourg line
While works and material failures already punctuate the daily lives of rail users, a social movement will be added to the equation this Wednesday, December 7, but it will affect only a few trains.
Border mobility
While works and material failures already punctuate the daily lives of rail users, a social movement will be added to the equation this Wednesday, December 7, but it will affect only a few trains.
The TGV and Intercités paid the price on December 2, 3 and 4, while the TER had passed between the drops. On December 6, 7 and 8, the regional trains of the Grand Est will however be affected by a social movement. The Nancy-Metz-Luxembourg line will be affected by this strike.
Cancellations and partial deletions are therefore to be expected between Tuesday, December 6, 7 p.m. and Thursday, December 8, 8 a.m. If the social movement extends over three days, the disturbances will peak during the day on Wednesday, December 7. Fortunately for rail users, the overwhelming majority of trains will circle.
It should be noted that while certain lines in the Grand Est region were impacted from Tuesday December 6, the one linking Nancy to Luxembourg was spared during this evening.
Wednesday, December 7, however, deletions are visible on the timetable published by the French railway company, but they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. In addition, there are no major disruptions to be noted during peak hours.
Only one cancellation in the morning
Thus, this Wednesday, December 7, only TER n°88505 departing from Nancy at 7:20 a.m., with an expected arrival at 9:15 a.m. at Luxembourg station, will be canceled. What relieve cross-border commuters using the line. In the Luxembourg-Nancy direction, two trains are partially canceled between Metz and Nancy, the 6:04 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. TER trains departing from Thionville.
During the afternoon and the evening, no suppression, whether partial or total, is however to be reported. Cross-border commuters should therefore be able to return home from Luxembourg stations on line 90 without incident.
As a reminder, this “unitary strike”, to which the CGT, SUD-Rail and CFDT were called, is linked to a national social movement of controllers. Beyond the Grand Est region, other territories are affected by social movements this week, like Occitanie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, or even Burgundy-Franche-Comté. This mobilization comes as the mandatory annual negotiations are due to begin this Wednesday at the level of the SNCF group.
The train circulation plans are published daily by the SNCF. The railway company thus indicates that the details of the disturbances will be known the day before for the next day from 5 p.m. on the dedicated site.
