Handmade, recycled… All made in France
For an eco-responsible Christmas, handmade gift ideas are more and more fashionable. This is the principle of this show offered in Toulouse. The 130 craftsmen and creators come to present their products: clothes, furniture, handmade creations… Visitors can come and browse or fall for a unique nugget. Thus for five days, French know-how is to be discovered at MEITT.

Creations of multiple professions
Many trades will be present manual skill. As the organizers explain, “creation is expressed in the ancestral knowledge of a relay and calligrapher of old books, a shoemaker, a perfumer or a luthier of unusual violins with stunning sounds”.
Visitors will then be able to discover crafts such as those that revolve around wood. The association of cabinetmakers and creators of Revel, in Haute-Garonne, will be present. They will show everything that is possible with wood but also in partnership with ceramists, cutlers, jewelers, hatters, sculptors, painters, photographers, illustrators..
Recycled clothes
The Réanim’Art organization will be present on the clothing side. Its concept: to transform and recycle materials into accessories, art objects or decoration. This then gives rise to interesting products: zero-waste fabric creations, leather or recycled plastic scrap jewelry, lamps made from knife blade plates and wood scraps, recycled bronze sculptures, renovated furniture.
The MEETT turns into an art gallery
An art gallery will also take place within the living room. In the form of a Pop-Up Art Gallery, the Toulouse painter parrot will present their work. His inspiration is based on his Catalan origins: he is a great admirer of Miro and Picasso. Visitors will be able to discover his works with unstructured human forms and figures.
Added to this ephemeral gallery are the works of visual artist Laurence Litomi, sculptor Eva Czaplicki and visual artist Maribé. To mark in the diary: the opening will take place Friday, December 9 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the presence of the artists.
Young creators exhibited
A show is also an opportunity to highlight young designers. For the occasion, the “Young Creators” program offers young arts and crafts companies the opportunity to be highlighted. For five days, visitors could elect their favorite craftsman. Last year, it was Gwenaëlle Le Polles, a young glass spinner who was voted the public’s favorite. After this public recognition, she is back this year with her Murano glass creations and jewelry.
A large participatory fresco
One of the highlights of the fair is the universal project. by the plastic sculptor Or Corbeta. The artist was inspired by the photo of the James-Webb telescope of July 2022. Thus, she invites visitors to participate in her work. Those who wish to be able to leave their mark on a canvas in the shape of a giant ellipse. “Each added point represents a star in the universe”, explain the organizers.
Throughout the Creators & Craftsmen Fair workshops will also be offered to visitors to discover the different skills. The show is open from Wednesday December 7 to Sunday December 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A musical late night is scheduled for Friday, December 9 until 10 p.m.
