He presented folk songs in many forms and genres to a wide audience in our country and abroad, and above all, through his work, he revived and preserved countless folk songs that would otherwise have been forgotten.
The Brno Radio Orchestra of Folk Instruments is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and it deserves a look back in time. A memory of the very beginnings of the orchestra. To Jaroslav Jurášek – his “founding father”, to singing soloists from various ethnographic regions, to orchestra conductors and later excellent primates, such as Bohdan Warchal, Bohumil Smejkal, after a number of years Jindřich Hovorka or, in recent decades, František Černý and the current Petr Varmuža . Memories of witnesses, archive records and above all musical samples. After all, BROLN was, is and will be an orchestra that creates music and revives folk songs on the waves of Czech Radio.
