Terminus for the robberies: Thieving trio arrested in Salzburg
For at least a month, three thieves are said to have stolen from sleeping guests on late-night trains. Investigations by the Salzburg police uncovered them. Their hiding place was near the Wels main station.
SALZBURG/UPPER AUSTRIA. During the November crime period, the three men accused of theft are said to have stolen jewelry, cash and electronic devices worth 15,000 euros. As part of a manhunt, the three were found in Wels. By order of the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, they were taken to the Welt prison.

For at least a month, a 21-year-old Slovakian and two Serbs (48 and 52 years old) are said to have stolen from sleeping passengers on late-night trains in Austria. The trio are charged with thefts of more than 15,000 euros. They are said to have stolen jewellery, cash and electronic devices.
Then the handcuffs clicked
Because the Salzburg main train station is an important traffic junction, the Salzburg main train station police station takes over the investigation. The thieves’ hiding place near the main train station in Wels was found as part of investigative and search measures by the Salzburg main train station inspection team together with the Salzburg State Criminal Police Office. The three perpetrators were found at the scene and arrested. Various valuables were also found in the hiding place. As ordered by the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, the three were detained at Wels Prison.
