The Schwarzach (Pongau) hospital run by the Sisters of Mercy is parting ways with its new manager, Cornelia Lindner. A spokesman for the clinic announced this to the public on Tuesday. The new medical director, Eugen Adelsmayr, will take on the role.
Official reason for the departure of the managing director: Cornelia Lindner has lost the trust of “external stakeholders”. There had been “profound differences of opinion” between her, the hospital’s operating company and the supervisory board about the management of the hospital.
There have been heated debates and rumors for years about managerial positions and jobs for specialists in the church-run hospital, which is co-financed by the state of Salzburg with taxpayers’ money – framed by organizational and personnel changes. In September 2021, the responsible departments of the state government checked the hospital finances – after an expected controversy about the dismissal of the classic medical boss.
Lindner’s contract runs until the end of March
The service contract with the previous managing director Lindner was terminated by March 31, 2023, the manager is leaving the house on Tuesday, according to the current broadcast from the Schwarzach hospital.
On Tuesday, the hospital will inform the public – in addition to the state of Salzburg as a donor, its medical directorate, the media, the mayors of the region and the resident doctors of the Pongau and the directorates of the other Salzburg hospitals.
