Sp. Petroulakis on ERT: “I came one step before opening the bin to eat”
The writer, Spyros Petroulakis sat on the couch of the show “Studio 4” and talked about her his life in Crete and difficult years in Athens, due to its unfavorable economic situation.
The author of the television series “Sasmos”, initially stated that “Crete was and has been for a magnet, which attracted me since I was small. It was always a magnet. I also thought about the business side because I wanted to open a gym and it had no competition.” He added, among other things, that “In the beginning the climate in Rethymnon was a bit cold. In some places you go as a stranger and stay as a stranger. But I was lucky. I got married there, stayed until 2006 and then went to Chania. My children were born in Crete, my daughter turned 17 and my son is 15”.

Mr. Petroulakis revealed that he decided to leave Crete for a while, in order to play music on stages. “In Athens there were more scenes. I was quite old, around 40.” “There were huge financial difficulties with the crisis, a financial disaster in jobs,” said the well-known author and continued, stressing that “He left me in debt. the business became very big. I had nothing else to do and started the music. I had to live somehow. As soon as I came to Athens I found a job as a musician. I lived in my father’s house, which had been abandoned for many years, on a mattress on the floor, without electricity. I got a step before I opened the bin to eat.’
