SNCF presents in Brive its new trains for the Intercité Paris-Limoges-Toulouse line
Against the background of controversy since the letter from the boss of Legrand
This weekend, the SNCF presented in Brive its new frames for the Intercités Paris, Limoges, Toulouse line. They will gradually replace the coral trains on the POLT line as well as on the Paris – Clermont-Ferrand line.
New trains at 25 million euros
These are oars manufactured by the Spanish company CAF, more comfortable, faster, hyperconnected, fully accessible to people in wheelchairs, both in 1st and 2nd class. It cost almost 25 million euros each.
***”*It is a train completely adapted to the lines it crosses because it is made just for these lines. This is not equipment that exists today and we are doing it to prepare it for Paris-Limoges-Toulouse, Paris-Clermont” explains Isabelle Gaillardon, Intercités project manager.
Deployment from 2023
Corrèze senator Daniel Chassin is a big user of the line to Paris. He regularly denounced the recurring problems on the service, delays, cancellations and cancellations of trains. And these trains are still far from satisfying him. ***”*We were promised them when the Prime Minister came to Limoges. We’re not going to have them until 2024, 2025″ the senator grows impatient. Reproaches that echo
to those of the boss of Legrand at the SNCF.
It will indeed be necessary to be patient even to see the arrival of these new trains. Their deployment will take place from 2023 so that all the coral trains are kept by the end of 2026 at the latest.
The model of this new train can be visited until Tuesday, December 6 in front of Brive station.
