(di) Yesterday evening (05.12.2022) a fatal shot was fired in Praunheim. A man was shot in the open street. The police arrested a suspect.

The crime happened around 6:30 p.m. in the Heerstraße area. According to previous knowledge, a 40-year-old fired several shots at a 38-year-old. The victim succumbed to his findings on the spot. The suspect himself was arrested at the scene.

The evidence securing measures and crime scene work continues until late in the evening. The crime scene was cordoned off. The victim’s autopsy is scheduled for today. The suspect is to be brought before the magistrate later today.

Whether the perpetrator and the victim can get along and what the motivation for the crime is is the subject of the ongoing investigations by the Frankfurt Homicide Commission.

Among other things, extensive video surveillance recordings are currently being evaluated. The background is also that presumably several witnesses saw the perpetrators and victims and also had contact with them when the victim was already injured but still alive on the ground. The witnesses may have assumed that an accident had occurred.
