“He has all the characteristics of a very high level player”: Rémy Valin compliments Milan Barbitch

Sugar Mizzy December 6, 2022

Milan Barbitch is having a good start to the season with Fos-sur-Mer, despite sluggish collective results.

Milan Barbitch is the in-form man from the divided start to the season. The 21-year-old point guard is surprising and has become one of the BYers’ main offensive weapons. Three first months of promising championships which contrast with his Parisian season.

This is called a win-win deal. On the one hand, Milan Barbitch, in search of playing time and responsibilities, found the field of expression he was looking for. On the other, Fos-sur-Mer, the last payroll of Betclic ÉLITE (1.03 million euros), smelled the good shot. Born in Cagnes-sur-Mer, Milan Barbitch is the little clearing in the middle of the Ditch grayness. “We are going to make surprises soon”assured the leader of 21 years, after 6e straight defeat of the BYers in the leagueagainst Boulogne-Levallois, Friday.

His team’s top scorer with 12.2 points per game, the son of Yann Barbitch (deputy general manager of the French men’s team), seems more fulfilled on the shores of the Mediterranean than in Ile-de-France. Behind the Juhann Begarin and Ismaël Kamagaté projects, Milan Barbitch struggled to find the right fuel for his first year in Betclic ELITE. Between injuries and risky choices in attack, he sometimes appeared out of step. Change of course in the off-season. The 2016 French U15 champion has decided to leave Paris Basketball, where he has been playing since leaving the Pôle France in 2019. Head to the BYers, where the reality is quite different. “I feel good, I worked physically this summer to be at the level of this division”explain yourself. “It’s paying right now and it’s winning to pay this season. » Over the meetings, he has become one of the main offensive weapons of Rémy Valin’s system. A step up not supposed to be so fast but precipitated by a Stephen Brown not always at the level. “I’m supposed to be the coach’s relay on the pitch so I try to be a local leader. To communicate with my teammates, with my staff. When I feel the need, I try to speak up, to motivate my teammates.”explains Milan Barbitch.

“He is confident”

A week after losing two important balloons against the Chorale de Roanne in extra time, after being targeted by a Jean-Denys Choulet Aware that he was more efficient at the back than at the lead, Milan Barbitch recovered admirably against the leader Boulogne-Levallois, by accumulating 15 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. He was the detonator of the divided revolt, until bringing his team to four lengths on a big award-winning shot at the start of money time (77-73, 34 ‘). Insufficient, however, because “Wemby” and his band immediately flew to the score to seal their 9e victory in 10 games.

“He’s a kid who should go far, he has everything to get there”incense Rémy Valin, coach son. “He has a lot of characteristics of a very high level player. He has also toughened up: we can get into him, he will always respond and even raise his level of play. He listens, he is good, confident and has a real shot. » In short, everything Fos-sur-Mer needs to return to victory and snatch its maintenance at the end of the season. The commando mission begins this Tuesday evening at the Meilleraie…
