A7 Moldova highway: the Ministry of Transport issued the construction authorization for three lots in the Buzău-Focșani sector
The Ministry of Transport issued the construction permit for lots 2, 3 and 4 of the Buzău – Focșani Highway (82.44 km). If the execution contract was signed for lots 1 and 4, the award procedure for lots 2 and 3 has not yet been completed, announces economica.net.
On November 29, 2022, the construction permit was issued for the Buzău – Focșani Highway km 4 +600 – km 35 +400 (lot 2). The value of the authorized works is 1.37 billion lei without VAT, and their duration is 26 months from the start date.
On the same day, the construction permit was also issued for the Buzău – Focșani Highway km 35 + 400 – km 71 + 500 (lot 3). The value of the authorized works is 1.53 billion lei without VAT and their duration is 26 months from the start date.
Also on November 29, MTI issued a construction permit for the Buzău – Focșani Highway km 71 +500 – km 82 + 440 (lot 4). The value of the authorized works is 807 million lei without VAT and their duration is 20 months from the start date.
The contracts for the execution of lots 1 and 4 of the Buzău – Focșani Highway were signed on September 6, 2022 with Umbrărescu’s companies:
– Lot 1 Buzău – Vadu Pașii (km 0+000 – km 4+600) – 4.6 km, for 689,285 million lei, without VAT
– Lot 4 Mândrești Munteni – Focșani Nord (km 71+500 – km 82+440) – 10.9 km, for 763.720 million lei, without VAT.
The execution term is 20 months from the date of the order to start the works, and the guarantee period for the works is 120 months.
On September 19, the Romanian builder Dorinel Umbrărescu was designated the winner on lots 2 and 3 of the Buzău – Focșani (A7) highway, according to the Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu.
Section 2 (Vadu Pașii – Râmnicu Sărat) has a length of 30.8 km. UMB’s financial offer is 1.31 billion lei (without VAT).
Section 3 (Râmnicu Sărat – Mândrești Munteni) has a length of 36.1 km. UMB’s financial offer is 1.46 billion lei (without VAT).
The construction of both sections, financed by PNRR, will take 26 months (2025).
For section 2, the contract includes the construction of 12 bridges, including the Bridge over the Râmnic River and over DN22.
For section 3, the contract includes the construction of 18 bridges and one passage, including the bridge over DJ 205R and over the Râmna river.
The award procedure for sections 2 and 3 has been contested, currently being re-evaluated.
All 4 sections of the Buzău – Focșani Highway (Section of the A7) will have a total length of 82.44 km and will effectively create the first high-speed road connection between Muntenia and Moldova.
