a trio of thieves confused by… a receipt
Six burglaries on the same day, the unfortunate series observed on November 22 by the gendarmes of the Annecy-Seynod brigade had reason to worry about the presence of a team raging in the Annecy basin as Christmas approached.
But that was without counting on the tenacity and rigor of the soldiers who, thanks to their investigations, found some of the stolen objects the next day, abandoned not far from the house of one of the victims. A discovery that would help solve the series of burglaries, and clarify others. Among these objects, the gendarmes found a receipt which did not belong to the victims. The little piece of paper was going to rock the investigation.
Supported by a team from the Annecy research brigade (BR), the checks carried out enabled the group of investigators to discover that it was not one but three burglars committing their misdeeds together.
Barely ten days after the events, on Thursday December 1, with the reinforcement of the soldiers of the platoon of surveillance and intervention (Psig) of Annecy, the dragnet was launched on the Lyon region. Three men were arrested at their home. The searches carried out made it possible to find a large part of the stolen objects.
The recovery work carried out by the gendarmes of the Annecy gendarmerie company will make it possible to link the three accused to 19 burglaries. They were charged and remanded in custody. The objects found (cash, accessories, jewelry and luxury bags, etc.) were returned to their legitimate owners.
