The Christmas Village takes you on a journey to Spitsbergen, discover the activities offered for the end of the year
Ferris wheel, creative workshops, food stands, fireworks: December promises to be festive in Monaco.
For Christmas, the Town Hall of Monaco is thinking big and is planning many activities throughout the month of December in the port of Monaco. Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques, Princess Gabriella and Charlotte Casiraghi were on site last Friday to inaugurate the Christmas Village.
For this year, the Christmas market takes its visitors on a journey to Spitsbergen, a large Norwegian island in the heart of the Arctic Ocean, well known to Prince Albert I through his many scientific expeditions. Walruses, sea unicorns, polar bears and penguins rub shoulders there to take part in the magical and snowy atmosphere of Spitsbergen. Prince Albert I, in the guise of a colossal 6-meter statue, ensures the good atmosphere of the Christmas celebrations.
A festive village
Until January 2, 2023, the Quai Albert Ier will host 21 food stalls, 21 sales chalets, rides and also concerts every Friday. The Ferris wheel is making a comeback, nothing better to discover the Principality from a new point of view.
From December 17, the village will host walks every afternoon with different themes. Creative workshops will be organized every weekend to immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere and create magnificent decorations yourself. On December 31, the Town Hall organizes a “Great New Year’s Eve” with a concert by the group Benty Brothers Music and a big fireworks display at midnight.

To respect its commitments in favor of the environment, the 800 Christmas trees in the village will be transformed into compost and the cigarette butts deposited in the eco-ashtrays will be recycled.
The Village opens its doors from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as during all school holidays.
