DEKOM’s Santa once again visited the Pediatric Institute: the charitable organization of the University of Debrecen gave gifts to the sick children treated there. Incidentally, unusual mailboxes appeared in several parts of the city, where you could send a message to Santa Claus.
On Monday afternoon, Santa ate with the smallest recovering patients. Parents and children were delighted with the special surprise. Lilla Sziráky has been participating in the distribution of chocolates for several years.
– In addition to learning, during the weekdays, we can sneak a little joy into our everyday lives, as we know that it is for a good cause, and the way children smile and we can see their joy when we hand them chocolates, it brightens up our gray everyday days full of learning. – highlighted Lilla Sziráky, member of the Debrecen Medical Students’ Association.
The special medical and rescue group of the University of Debrecen organized the campaign for the 16th time. Santa Claus also visits the farm world around the city, where he also surprises the children with chocolate.
– What we can add, in addition to the fact that there are certainly many doctors working in the team, is care and attention, collection and distribution. András Késmárky, the president of DEKOM, emphasized that not only does Santa give chocolate to the children, but he does so with a few kind, healing words.
Santa Claus is also waiting elsewhere. Unusual mailboxes have appeared in Debrecen in recent days, where children can drop letters and drawings written to Santa Claus.
– They are very happy about it, they draw their wishes for Santa in groups in the nursery. So the people who live here, as well as the little children, were happy to buy it – said Ágnes Baloghné, head of the Mi-Mi Family Nursery School.
With the mailboxes, the nursery school primarily wants to help parents to ensure that their children’s wishes are met.
