Morgan Ranguet’s men had landed in Bretteville land with a single objective, Sunday, December 4, 2022: to regain the leader’s chair stolen by Ferté Macé the day before. Contract completed for the Hérouvillais, not without difficulty… Anthony Boutamine’s teammates had to wait for a goal from Kali Macalou in the 93ᵉ to overcome a Bretteville formation still as catchy.
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth
Coming for the three points, the visitors did not take long to shine. It was also captain Khalid Ramdane who would show the way to his teammates. Upon receiving a millimeter cross, the eccentric had only to push the ball into the empty but to open the scoring in the 10th minute of play (0-1). Hérouville then did the hard part but a minute later, the counters were reset. On the engagement, the locals surely took advantage of the opposing euphoria to bring the ball up intelligently, and, as if to respond to his counterpart, it was captain Brettevillais Thibaut Crétien who had just equalized (1-1).
Alexandre Sanz to pass
The Red and Whites were not going to stop there. They were going to take advantage of a Hérouville team installed in their camp to play against. In this game, it was Alexandre Sanz who was going to surprise everyone. Party at the limit of offside, number 9 appeared alone against the opposing goalkeeper, and with a sumptuous dive gave the advantage to his team (2-1). The 35-year-old striker, used to futsal games, never ceases to amaze for his first reason in R2.
A stunning leader
Returning with better intentions in the second half, the visitors were going to break the Bretteville lock on the hour mark. On an indisputable penalty, Khalid Ramdane was quick to score a double (2-2). Not satisfied, the men of Morgan Ranguet pushed to get this victory synonymous with first place. The Hérouvillais thought they had to settle for a point, but, in the 93ᵉ minute, on a finely played corner, Kali Macalou freed a whole club by pulverizing a helpless Brandon Biou (3-2).
Thanks to this goal, Hérouville returns to first place, with a small point ahead of their runner-up. Bretteville-sur-Odon will spend the holidays in seventh place.
reactions
Christophe Fortin (coach Bretteville-sur-Odon): “It was a good match today, with a good start on both sides where both teams scored quickly. We then manage to pass in front on a good ball in depth. It’s a team that’s not used to being trailed so they got a little nervous, it was all good for us. They came back more dominant in the second period and after an equalizer on penalty, they scored this but at the last minute on their fourth corner in a row. I think we lack experience on this one but it will help us for the future. We had to play without our striker Demba who left the ship for different reasons, it was not the best context to prepare for the match”.
Morgan Ranguet (Coach Hérouville): “A complicated match today, against a Bretteville team that many have wrongly buried. We made it difficult for ourselves by giving them the opportunity to stay in the game after we opened the scoring. I’m glad we managed to turn the game around. »
