The Prague municipality will distribute 6.87 million crowns among the second group of 42 applicants for boiler replacement subsidies. In total, the city in the so-called last termination over 11.85 million CZK, which is roughly the same as in the previous phase. This follows from a document approved by city councilors. The money is intended for low-income families. The acquisition of ecological heating for households is supposed to contribute to the improvement of air quality. The first call for so-called pot subsidies began in July 2015, the municipality receives money for these subsidies from the Ministry of the Environment.
The project is aimed at owners of family houses, apartments or permanently inhabited buildings originally intended for recreation, who still use an ecologically unsuitable solid fuel boiler for heating and belong to the group of low-income households.
With the money, applicants can purchase a heat pump, biomass boiler or gas condensing boiler instead of a conventional solid fuel boiler. Each device can draw a different maximum possible amount. The municipality distributes the most money to replace boilers with heat pumps, when an applicant can receive up to 180,000 crowns, which is the most of all types of alternative heat sources.
