Cornèr Europe and Visa launch Google Pay in Liechtenstein – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – The Swiss bank Cornèr Europe – which, for example, offers credit cards in cooperation with the Liechtensteinische Landesbank – is now offering its customers contactless payment via Google Pay in Liechtenstein. This means that in future Liechtenstein Cornèr credit cards can also be stored in the Google Wallet.
The digital Google Wallet, which is also being launched in Liechtenstein today, allows “Cornèr Europe” cardholders to deposit their payment cards in their own wallet and use them wherever contactless payments are accepted. In addition to the payment cards, customer and boarding cards as well as event tickets can also be stored in the Google Wallet.
Several layers of security, which complement the already existing protection mechanisms of the Cornèr Europe cards, are intended to make the use of “Google Pay” payments even more secure. Thanks to the tokenization customary in the industry, the cards stored in the wallet and used for payment are provided with a virtual card number (known as a token). This device-specific token IS supported by a dynamic security code that is regenerated with each transaction, providing additional protection against fraud.
If the smartphone is lost or stolen, users can simply use the “find my device” function to lock their devices from anywhere, protect them with a new password or erase all their personal data, Cornèr explains. To use the “Cornèr Europe” Visa card with Google Pay, the cardholder can download the Google Wallet from the Google Play Store.
