Timing of the party television (First, Rossiya, NTV, TVC and Ren-TV) November 27 – December 3, 2022

Employees daily calculate the duration of coverage of the activities of five parliamentary parties (KPRF, United Russia, Just Russia, LDPR and New People) in news programs of five federal TV channels (First, Rossiya, NTV, TVC and Ren) . -TV), keep timing of the synchronous (direct speech) of the representatives of this party, and also take into account their representation in some of the observed television programs. The air of the TV channel “Russia-24” does not occur during the calculation.

During the period from November 27 to December 3, the five-parliamentary parties were given 7 minutes 40 seconds of air time in the news release on federal TV channels, which is three times less time than it was at the last minute.

So, during October-November 2022, the total amount of news on the party television air was changed by the council (Group 1):

In this way, in the period from November 27 to December 3, compared with a significant a sharp drop in public airtime. Parties have received the lowest weekly airflow since September 25.

In this way, in the period from November 27 to December 3, compared with a significant falling share of the Communist Party (from 15 to 0%), “Fair Russia” (from 12 to 0%) and “New People” (from 6 to 0%). the broadcast shares of United Russia (from 60 to 91%) and the Liberal Democratic Party (from 7 to 9%) increased sharply.

Mentions about the parties on the channel “Russia 24”

Employees of the CIPCR and the Observation Sector of the Department for Dangerous Electoral Districts of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation analyzed the frequency of mentioning four parliamentary parties in the messages of the Rossiya 24 TV channel (Table 4).

Thus, in the period from November 27 to December 3, 2022 on “Russia 24” there were 13 stories with mentions of manifestations, while there were 14 reports on significance (see Appendix 1).

met only “United Russia” (11 subjects). The Communist Party of the Russian Federation and New People (according to the plot) were also shown on the air. The LDPR and A Just Russia were not mentioned.

In total, for the period from February 24 to December 3, political air was received for 30 hours and 31 minutes of air time. At the same time, 57% of the air was received by United Russia, 20% by the Liberal Democratic Party, 13% by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, 6% by A Just Russia and 4% by New People. Communist Party ranked third worldwide on television.

If we consider the story that aired in the same period on five central TV channels and the Russia 24 channel, the “party of power” has a noticeable advantage here (Table 5).

In this way, on central channels “United Russia” was mentioned most often (in 1121 stories). According to the second mention of the place of the Communist Party (370 stories). The LDPR was mentioned in 330 stories, A Just Russia in 230 stories, the New People party in 171 seasons.

On the channel “Russia 24” ratio is different. are also mentioned in total “ER” (636 times), the second place belongs to the Liberal Democratic Party (275 stories), the third place is occupied by “Fair Russia” (245 stories), in fourth place is “New People” (218 stories) and in last place is the Communist Party ( 217 messages).

conclusions

  • Between November 27th and December 3rd general news congress of party television a threefold drop compared to extreme rarity. The political party received less than eight minutes of airtime, the smallest weekly airtime limit since September 25th.

  • The Communist Party, “Fair Russia” and “New People” were not mentioned on television.
  • Regarding the mention of parties on the channel “Russia 24”, then most often the United Russia TV channel (11 stories). Once again, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the New People were presented on the air. The LDPR and A Just Russia were not mentioned.
  • If we consider the entire news party political air since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, then in the period from February 24, United Russia (57%) and the Liberal Democratic Party (20%) received the largest share of the air. The Communist Party got 13%, “Fair Russia” 6%, “NL” 4% of the air.
  • Thus, in the period from November 27 to December 3, the total amount of air was reduced in less than eight minutes. TV channels cover exclusively the activities of the “party of power” and the sequence of its projects. LDPR. Other parliamentary parties, including the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, were not represented on television during the presidential period.
