Thessaloniki: The first wheelchair accessible ramp was installed in the center (PHOTO)
The Vice-Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unity of Thessaloniki and President of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Mrs. Voula Patoulidou, the President of the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics of Macedonia – Thrace, Mr. Giorgos Augustidis and Mr. Dimitris Antoniou, sent their own message for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities .
On Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 12:00 noon, he installed the first wheelchair accessibility ramp at the entrance of the ZIZEL store, Tsimiski 36.
The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization will supply another 14 shops in the center of Thessaloniki with the specific special ramps, sending the message the access rates.
Mrs. Patoulidou stated: “What we take for granted, for some of our fellow citizens are impossible. Ensuring freedom and unimpeded access for all, including citizens, is a matter of social equality and justice. And democracy. Our goal is not simply to motivate the Thessaloniki market to contribute to our effort. We all open our eyes and hearts to the right of free access. We are educated in social equality”.
