The last stage of the Tour de France 2024 will start from Monaco
Prince Albert II announced this Saturday from the Yacht Club de Monaco that the start of the last stage of the Grande Boucle 2024 will be given from the Principality to reach Nice.
As in 2009, Monaco will host the prestigious race on its land. In the company of Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour, but also the former Norwegian rider Thor Hushovd, Prince Albert II confirmed that a time trial between Monaco and Nice ended up as the final stage of the Tour de France 2024 .
“We don’t replace Paris like that, it needed prestige to finish this event, named Christian Prudhomme. We could not have dreamed of better with this test of truth between the Principality and Nice.”
A spectacular time trial?
Scene of the arrival of the Tour de France, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées will not welcome the arrival of the Grande Boucle in 2024 due to the organization of the Olympic Games in Paris.
It is therefore the Côte d’Azur and the Principality which have had the favor of the organizers of the event. The time trial between Monaco and Nice should revolve around a 35 kilometer course, with some elevation on the program.
