Open since 1982, the High School for Hospitality, Tourism and Food Trades in Marseille is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the Lycée hôtelier, which did not bear a name, was renamed Jean-Paul PASSEDAT, in honor of this great Chief of the territory who had campaigned for the creation of the Lycée hôtelier in Marseille. Jean-Paul PASSEDAT was a passionate cook, a great builder, a formidable entrepreneur with 2 stars to his credit, he was also a fervent defender of cuisine with Mediterranean accents.
“We have decided, after consultation with the family, and I thank Gérald PASSEDAT for this, with the vote of the Board of Directors and the opinion of the Mayor of Marseille, to name this school in honor of one of his most fervent craftsmen: Jean-Paul PASSEDAT hotel school! To these young people, I want to tell them “follow this example”. Also, I take this opportunity to announce that this establishment will benefit from a major renovation. It is a budget of more than 25 million € which will be devoted to energy renovation and improvement of equipment. We will always be by your side.
