By the end of 2025, Belarus will switch to low-floor public transport

By the end of 2025, Belarus will completely switch to low-floor public transport, that is, equipped transport for people with disabilities. This was announced by the head of the Department for Affairs of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus Victoria Grechikhawrites BELTA.
“At the moment, in our country, more than 60% of transport is low-floor, that is, it is fully accessible to people with disabilities. By the end of 2025, we will completely switch to this type of transport,” Victoria Grechikha informed.
Vera Astapenko, Deputy Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, noted that it is planned to purchase three low-floor buses in the Vitebsk Region under the “Accessible Environment” program. However, 40 such buses were purchased for the convenience of people with disabilities.
