Shortened by the Venice Biennale, Balliano exhibits in Vercelli
From 10 December to 10 March at Studio 256
VERCELLI (03.12.2022 – 22.20) – The 59th edition of the Venice Art Biennale ended on November 27th. Among the protagonists of this very important artistic review, the painter from Vercelli Ezio Balliano which was selected by the gallery owner and art critic Luciano Carini on the occasion of the Rome Triennale and called to Venice by the curator of one of the thematic exhibitions, Daniele Radini Tedeschiwell-known art critic and writer to exhibit in the exhibition at the Grenada National Pavilion, “Giardino Bianco Art Space”.
«It was an unexpected invitation but it filled me with pride and satisfaction» – says Balliano – «Participation in this event, certainly one of the most important in the world with over 40,000 visitors over the seven months of the exhibition, represented the ideal culmination of a 50-year artistic career and an entire life dedicated to art».
The artist from Vercelli presented his important work “Luci in risoia” (a large oil on canvas, 100×120 cm. from the early 1990s) which develops, on the classic themes of the landscape of his land, a reading of the different and new subject, paying great attention to the most fleeting aspects of reality, determined by the changing light, always careful to grasp the most suggestive nuances in a continuous reinvention: a decisive element of art.
«It is a work of which I am particularly fond of and which is very well connected to the theme of the exhibition; the palette is evanescent and dreamy, the pinks become blues which become grays almost without interruption, generating misty atmospheres from which isolated pictorial elements emerge. Wrapped in the protective mantle of mist, the ancient motif of solitude returns overbearingly, that solitude loved and hated by every artist, a solitude that perhaps distresses, but in some cases also knows how to exalt, which leads a sensitive soul to the discovery of the truth, in a a journey within oneself in search of roots and identity, but also, and above all, a metaphor for life in search of new emotions, freedom of expression, inner peace and for this reason I thought of offering Vercelli a review of works that represent the artistic path that brought me to the Venice Biennale».
From 10 December next and until 10 March next year, in fact, at Studio d’Arte 256 in corso Libertà in Vercelli it will be possible to visit, by appointment, an exhibition of significant works of inspiration and artistic growth of Ezio Balliano.
In the meantime, the work of the jury of critics, journalists, critics and art lovers continues, in charge of selecting among the over 300 works by an impressive number of artists from all over Italy presented during the first phase of the “Biennale Arte Città di Vercelli” , those who will participate in the great spring collective which will decree the winner of the artistic event who will win the prestigious trophy offered by the organization.
