AWS opens offices in Bern
Amazon Web Services is already represented in Switzerland with locations in Zurich and Geneva. The hyperscaler is now opening new offices in Bern’s Postparc, in the immediate vicinity of the train station. With the new location, AWS wants to get even closer to Swiss customers – the federal administration comes to mind – and can offer partners and customers another opportunity to work together on ideas and innovations. The move comes shortly after the opening of a Swiss AWS infrastructure region with local data centers in November 2022 (“Swiss IT Reseller” reported).
Peter Ronchetti, Head of Public Sector and member of the management board of AWS Switzerland, says about the new location: “With our new offices in Bern, we are investing further in our local presence in order to be able to serve our customers in the Greater Bern area even better and personally on site. In combination with the opening of our infrastructure region at the beginning of November 2022, this is a very strong commitment to Switzerland and the opportunity for our customers to work from the federal capital. I am very pleased to be able to personally welcome our customers, partners and employees to the Bern office.” (ubi)
