Time for a Norwegian national team manager in Denmark again
Despite the fact that Denmark has a lot of beautiful flat nature with plenty of space for football pitches and superstars who play in the big leagues around Europe, they have no clue about management. – Incidentally, this does not just apply on the football field, but in general, as long as they do not involve warm sandwiches and schnapps.
I Sporten were clear that this was not good when they sent Åge Hareide home to Norway after leading Denmark in the most successful period of all time. Never before, nor since, has the Danish national team taken more points.!!.
Denmark left the WC in Qatar in shame. – In the whole championship they didn’t even have 10 shots on goal!! – conclusion, a goal, a point and the fastest possible exit.

The story could have been completely different!. When national team manager Morten Olsen resigned when they failed to qualify for the European Football Championship 2016, Hareide was presented as the new national team manager on 10 December 2015. His first match was on 24 March 2016, when Denmark beat Iceland 2-1.
Denmark took part in the 2016 Summer Olympics, where they were knocked out by Nigeria in the quarter-finals after losing 0-2. Hareide managed to get Denmark qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they lost the round of 16 to Croatia on penalties.
In February 2020, he was voted “Coach of the Year” in Denmark for 2019, by the other football coaches in Denmark, for the second year in a row. Denmark did not qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics. His agreement with the Danish Football Association expired in the summer of 2020, with plans to lead Denmark through the 2020 European Football Championship play-offs (to August 1), but when this championship was postponed to 2021 due to the corona pandemic he was informed in March that he had managed his last match as Danish national team coach.
He ended up with 42 games as Danish national team coach, with 21 wins, 18 draws and three losses. When he finished his work with the Danish national team, he was appointed a knight of the Order of Dannebrog.
Be ready to win the whole thing!

Kasper Hjulmand was handed a national team wrapped in tissue paper, they started with the Nations League’s highest division where the only losses came against Belgium, followed by the EC, which went well despite the drama surrounding Christian Eriksen (or possibly because of).
In 2022, Denmark was once again included in the A division of the Nations League and stayed again. Among other things, they defeated France twice. Denmark qualified for the Qatar WC as the only Nordic team in 10th place in the FIFA ranking. The ambitions were great, the group they ended up in was simple on paper. There were many who believed in Kasper Hjulmand’s national team.
DBU also clear plans for how they would deal with the controversial championship in Qatar. The idea was to use messages on the training clothes and a love band on the team captain for a match. – In the end, it came to nothing.
In the end, the World Cup in Qatar was a failure. A historic failure for a national team with a number of players from clubs in the biggest leagues.
