The “Disability Space” desk turns one year old and relaunches its action
The counter “Disability Area”, set up by the Executive Committee of the Social Security Institute, celebrated one year of activity this morning. At the premises of the Casa la Rosa in Borgo Maggioreoffice since 3 December last year, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Security met to draw up an initial assessment of the activities carried out, Roberto Ciavatta, with Francesca CiverchiaUOC Head of Disability and Residential Assistance Service, William Giardi, Director of the Minors Service, Patrizia Gallo, President of the UN CSD Commission and some of the representatives of the associations that in various capacities deal with the issues of social inclusion and support for people with disabilities in the area San Marino.
The center, born to inform, support and protect people with disabilities and their families, provided support to numerous San Marino citizens in the first 365 days of activity, recording 280 physical accesses and over 1,000 general information telephone calls. The explanations on the articles of law/procedures relating to various ambitions/nomenclators made by the desk were 120, while the requests to take charge aimed at the removal of architectural barriers in the area over 35.
A budget “of which we are very proud – commented the Secretary of State Roberto Ciavatta -. Thanks to this desk, the implementation of which was strongly pursued by my Secretariat as a necessary assistance tool, especially after some difficulties that the Covid-19 pandemic had forcefully brought to light, San Marino families know they can count on a space where they can find answers and protect their loved ones.
We will not stop here and soon we will also find a seat at the UN CSD Commission, so that the interoperability between offices and services in support of people with disabilities is as capillary as possible”. “We are satisfied with the activities carried out in these first 365 days – commented the UOC Head of the Disability and Residential Assistance Service, Dott.ssa Francesca Civerchia – but we know that the path to offering an excellent service to all San Marino families is still long. Precisely for this reason, today we are inaugurating a Facebook page dedicated to the counter’s activities. It will be an additional space to promote our activities and increase their promotion to all citizens who need it”.
