SNCF Paris-Toulouse line: traffic interrupted all weekend after a derailment at Vierzon
SNCF traffic between Vierzon, in Cher, and Châteauroux, in Indre, on the Paris-Toulouse line, will be interrupted in both directions all weekend. A freight train derailed on Friday, with no injuries, the company said.
SNCF traffic between Vierzon (Cher) and Châteauroux (Indre), on the Paris-Toulouse line, will be interrupted in both directions all weekend, due to the derailment this Friday of a freight train which did not a step made of wounded. “There was an incident on a freight train in Issoudun” (Indre), told AFP. “On certain train carriages which have derailed and which are blocking the movement of trains between Vierzon and Châteauroux”.

The cause of the accident was not immediately explained, specifies the SNCF, whose teams have “organized a pick-up by bus” for the passengers of the TER between Vierzon and Châteauroux. As for travelers on Intercités trains from Paris to Toulouse and vice versa, they will be taken back to their station of origin.
Lane clearance will last all weekend
On site, “SNCF Network teams organize the clearing of the tracks”, operations which “we estimate that they should last all weekend”, according to the public carrier, who invite travelers whose train passes on the portion Vierzon-Châteauroux to “postpone their trip”. This accident comes at the start of a weekend strike by SNCF controllers, which forced the company to cancel 60% of its TGV and Intercités from Friday to Sunday.
