Photos: This is what Kraftklub looked like live in Berlin
power club performed as part of their almost universally sold out “Cargo”tour on Thursday at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin. There was support from Mia Morgan, which also appeared on Kraftklub’s new album and got the audience in the mood for the main act with hits like “Wave Boy”. Our photographer Erik Lorenz was there and brought pictures, see above, and a few words from his memory.
Erik heard: “Kraftklub themselves took the stage just before 9pm. Individually adjustable curtains created a feeling of serving only a small ceiling. Club concert feeling, but on a large scale. With more show elements than at this year’s festival performances. Guitarist Karl Schumann was pulled up on a moving small stage during the song “Allmann Angst”. Pyrotechnics followed later, the large LED-K was illuminated. Kraftklub presents their new full-length album. The other classics of the previous albums achieved what was already clear anyway: the fans celebrated every song enthusiastically and in full ecstasy. So of course there was great joy when Blond came on stage to visit their brothers at the Berlin concert and to perform their joint song “so beautiful”. Later there was another special act: A little boy, who had already been pulled onto the stage from his father’s shoulders at the Lollapalooza, was now allowed to join the band again to operate the wheel of fortune introduced this summer. This time the lot falls on “Scheißindiedisko”, the pearl of the first album. Later, Kraftklub moved into the audience to play acoustic songs in the middle. Also Felix griefs “with you”. Ten years after their first album, the arenas introduced are almost all sold out, despite generally falling concert ticket sales and tour cancellations by other colleagues. With the Berlin concert, Kraftklub also clearly prove that the shows still feel just as close and heartfelt as they did in the small, sweaty East German club.”
