Brazil closes Group G with defeat, but avoids Portugal in the ‘eighth’
ÇAmarões beat Brazil this Friday by 1-0, in a match for the third and final round of the 2022 Mundial’s group stage. The Cameroonians built their part in a game of minimums, but did not take the leadership of Group G from the canarians.
There were several opportunities for both parties. Even so, the most dangerous belonged to the Africans, who almost scored several times. It was always worth the tremendous performance of Ederson, who replaced Alisson in this match. A draw was enough for Brazil, but not for Cameroon, who were dependent on the other group game to know their fate in the competition. It was because of this dependency that the goal scored by former FC Porto Aboubakar did nothing to change the course of the match.
Once ‘crazy’ Serbia-Switzerland ended 3-2 Swiss win, Cameroon is out of Mundial’2022, while Brazil goes ahead at the top of Group G. That said, the canary national team flees Portugal’s route, something that could happen if they go down to second place in the table. South Korea, who beat the Portuguese team this Friday, will be the next opponent of Brazil.
