2-1 win at the second division: Hertha wins friendly in Hanover
Bundesliga club Hertha BSC celebrated an away win in a friendly against Hannover 96. The capital city club won the second division in front of 1,296 spectators in the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena 2-1 (1-1).
Wilfried Kanga scored the early turn for the guests from Berlin in the 5th minute after a pass from Marco Richter. A little later, striker Hendrik Weydandt responded with his goal to equalize in the meantime (20th).
After the change of sides, Hertha took the lead despite a previously unremarkable performance. Dodi Lukebakio brought the ball flat in front of the opponent’s goal from the left, where Vladimir Darida only had to push in (71′).
The next task for Hertha is on December 7th, when Eintracht Braunschweig visits the Hanns-Braun-Stadion on Hertha’s training ground for a friendly. Both teams have met before this season, with an unfortunate outcome for Hertha: Sandro Schwarz’s team lost on penalties in the first round of the DFB Cup after leading 2-0 at Lower Saxony.
After that, the protégés of trainer Sandro Schwarz will go on early Christmas vacation. Preparation for the back series begins on January 2nd.
