Woman calls “policeman” and makes serious mistakes – Salzburg
A bogus police officer contacted an elderly lady in Salzburg at the end of November and lured a fortune out of her.
A previously unknown caller lured an 84-year-old woman from Flachgau into a five-digit euro sum. The stranger called the lady on November 28 on the landline phone and pretended to be a police officer.
He agreed with the injured party to collect the money for November 30th. The man came to the home address of the woman from Flachgau and she gave the alleged police officer the cash.
When the money was handed over, the perpetrator wore a hat and an FFP-2 mask, so the victim could not give a description. The man showed a police card.
In the last few days, there have been an increasing number of calls throughout Germany, especially in Flachgau.
