The year 1998, MTV music television and also an amateur competition in which the then unknown Anastacia Lyn Newkirk was trying to score. She easily made it to the finals in 2000, already debuting with her album Not That Kind.
Anastacia began her journey to the microphone at the New York Art School in Manhattan, where she was primarily interested in dance. This is exactly what he uses in his rich music career. She recorded seven studio albums – including dance hits.
Anastacia never lost her passion for music, despite the fact that already at the age of thirteen, doctors diagnosed Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory disease of the digestive system.
“It’s something that made me stronger. I’m really very happy that I can do what I do – that I can sing every day. I really give it my all. I’m grateful to be able to look at the sky every day and be where I am,” Anastacia told MTV at the start of her music career.
Fighting cancer
In 2003, she was battling breast cancer. The singer also immediately founded a foundation for women to research this type of cancer. But she went to study right after finishing the treatment.
Anastacia recorded the album of the same name in 2004. Ten years later, however, she sometimes heard from the doctors a second time. And she had to cancel her European tour. Even then, she won the battle with cancer. And this is exactly what was reflected on the fifth studio album, Resurrection, which means Resurrection.
Even before the Prague concert in 2009, she handed over a check for fifty thousand crowns to the oncology clinic of the Prague General Hospital. And Anastacia is famous for her good deeds. It wasn’t the first time she made a similar gesture, and it probably won’t be the last.
