Ukraine called on France to punish Russia for the crime of aggression
The Ukrainian authorities in France called to punish Russia for the crime of aggression.
With this call, the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, addressed the participants of the conference “Is security possible in Europe without condemning the crimes committed in Ukraine?”, which was held in Paris at Sciences Po University, Ukrinform was told in the OP.
“The tribunal condemned the Nazi ideology and sentenced those who were involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity. But first of all he punished those who made decisions and gave orders. Those who unleashed an aggressive war. Neither the USSR nor Russia had its own Nuremberg. Therefore, the imperial ideology of the Kremlin remains the main threat to the world in Europe and throughout the world. And, as you know, this is an existential threat to Ukraine. We have to put an end to this. The international community should bring the Russian leadership to criminal responsibility for crimes of aggression against Ukraine,” Yermak said.
He emphasized that Germany became a stronghold of democracy because it had its own Nuremberg.
The deputy head of the OP Andriy Smirnov emphasized that Ukraine is a country that fights for its right to be recognized not only as a democracy, but also as a country on the map of the civilized world, not with words, but with its actions. “And we are fighting for this right in the undeclared aggressive war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine. The most terrible war is the war for peace! And this war is the price of tens of thousands of innocent innocent civilians, women, minors and young children ” , people tortured, offended, killed at close range or by Russian missiles. This is a war of light against total darkness, in which the light will win unequivocally. The question is at what price,” Smirnov emphasized.
During the conference, the results of a public opinion poll in France about the need to punish Vladimir Putin for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine were also presented. The poll was conducted by OpinionWay, a French political polling company. The research was conducted on November 16-17, and more than a thousand people took part in it. In response to the question “Do you think it is necessary to punish Vladimir Putin for the crime of aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine?”, 86% of the French answered positively.
As reported, the conference and survey were conducted by the Franco-Ukrainian association Unis pour l’Ukraine with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
