South of Toulouse: a hunter coldly kills a Malinois dog with two gunshots
A man returning from an evening attacked a dog in mid-November in Rieux-Volvestre. He shot him with his rifle.
The case took place on Friday, November 18 at night. Two people returning from a party and returning to their home in Rieux-Volvestre, south of Toulouse, attacked a Malinois dog. According to the public prosecutor, Samuel Vuelta-Simon, they explained that when they opened the doors of their vehicle, the dog rushed into it.
Judged in February
One of the two people took the initiative to get his own hunting dog to dislodge the animal. He succeeded. But the dog remained nearby without threatening. The passenger in the car then made the decision to return home. This hunter grabbed his rifle and shot the malinois twice, killing him instantly.
A gendarmerie investigation was opened and made it possible to identify two suspects who were heard. The author of the shots was presented to the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday, November 30 and placed under judicial supervision. He will be tried on February 8, 2023 by the criminal court. His weapons have been seized and he must not appear in a place where a hunt is being held. He faces up to 5 years in prison for this deadly abuse.
