Snow expected this weekend in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais
A few flakes are expected Saturday morning in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais. Snowfall is expected to gain ground in the afternoon.
The cold is well established in Hauts-de-France. Snowfall is applied in the region this weekend, indicates Météo-France, only a few days after the start of the meteorological winter which begins this Thursday.
The flakes were to appear on Saturday morning in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais, with snow expected in Valenciennes, Douai, Cambrai, Lens and Arras. Temperatures will drop well below 0°C, with a minimum of -2°C expected in the morning.
Snow in Lille on Saturday afternoon
In Lille, snow will appear on Saturday afternoon, with temperatures around 0°C. It must also snow in the afternoon in Douai, where the mercury will stagnate at -1°C.
In Pas-de-Calais, snow is expected over most of the department on Saturday afternoon, from Arras to Saint-Omer, with temperatures between -1 and -2°C.
The snowfall should however be quite light in the region, Météo-France is only forecasting “a few flakes” for the moment.
On the coast, on the other hand, the day of Saturday will be rather sunny, with temperatures which will all remain the same low: on average 2 ° C in Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Météo-France does not yet predict snow for Sunday, but the temperatures will still remain negative, with at least -1°C in Lille and at most 2°C in the afternoon. In the Pas-de-Calais, Sunday will be cloudier with temperatures up to 4°C in Calais.
Temperatures have been quite cold since the beginning of the week due to a disruption and should “remain below seasonal averages for the end of the week”, explains Meteo France. A thaw could however take place next week.
