Salzburg wins Torfestival against Kitzbühel and climbs to second place! – Hockey-News.info – All news about national and international ice hockey
The favorites prevail in the two Tuesday games of the Alps Hockey League. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated a 7:4 home win over Kitzbühel and moved up to second place in the table. Just one place behind is Hafro Cortina Hockey, the Italians won 5-2 at the EC-KAC Future Team.
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors secured three points in the Alps Hockey League in a 7-4 goal festival against EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. The guests took the lead with a powerplay goal from Ralfs Jevdokimovs (10′), but Salzburg quickly turned the game in their favor and were 3-2 ahead after 20 minutes. As a result, the hosts always secured a two-goal lead, but Kitzbühel responded promptly. With the score at 5:4, the Juniors continued to put pressure on guest goalkeeper Paul Mocher and were finally rewarded with Quirin Bader’s second goal. Three minutes before the end, guest coach Pewal took the goalkeeper off the ice, and Max Jelavic finally found the empty goal to make it 7-4.
Cortina secures three points in the final third
The EC-KAC Future Team takes on Cortina with the youngest lineup of the season so far (average age: 19.8 years). Despite a courageous performance by the Carinthians, who were able to make up for a deficit twice, it was not enough to score points against the third-placed team. Because in the 50th minute, Gabriele Parini gave the Italian the lead for the third time that evening. More goals from Mikael Saha (53′) and Jason Seed (57′) finally secured the 5-2 away win. Cortina also took revenge for the home defeat almost a month ago.
