“Russia and China are united in their approaches to the prospects for the development of “green energy””
Andrey Maksimov spoke about the prospects for cooperation between Russia and China in the development of foreign sources at the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum.
“Russia and China are united in their approach to the prospects for the development of “green energy” as the most important tool for achieving the UN sustainable development goals. Our reasons lead to an increase in the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance,” he said.
Andrey Maksimov said that in terms of supporting renewable energy in Russia, last year it was especially important to extend the market economy program for the construction of renewable energy facilities on the wholesale market until 2035, which is likely to increase to 9 GW of new environmentally friendly energy capacities.
“The Russian side is interested in a number of Chinese partners in renewable energy generation projects, in particular, in those where there is a gradual increase in indicators for the need for a share of the concentration of equipment consumed. In our opinion, it is necessary to consider the possibility of creating in Russia enterprises engaged in the production of components and equipment for renewable energy sectors,” he said.
Also, in his opinion, it is important to deepen cooperation with China on the universal experience in the construction and construction of renewable energy generation facilities, as well as their deepening into the energy system. In this part, there is already an agreement between the countries to hold a seminar to consider methods and approaches to short-term forecasting of electricity generation by generating facilities using renewable energy sources.
Except for this, countries cooperate on the export of natural resources. Such a system has been successfully developed in China, and in Russia it is also now being actively monitored, aimed at its introduction.
“Certification makes it possible to attract additional investments in the field of renewable energy sources and turn useful socio-economic effects from electricity generation at renewable energy facilities into irrevocable fuel consumption. Mutual integration of the two systems and experience in their implementation would be very interesting for the Russian side,” he explained.
Andrey Maksimov said that constructive cooperation in the field of renewable energy development between Russia and China has quite good prospects, the relevant plans have already been prepared and agreed upon.
