“Lazio will find another Audace Verona”
Goal from three in the derby with the Vip for Luana Puttovbut the Rossoneri’s first thought goes to another exultation and that is to that tight embrace of Elena De Cao, the baby soccer player who in the second half had started the comeback of theAudacious Verona.
“I was about to crush her – she smiles – but it was necessary! We all trusted her right from the start: when I saw her in the Under 19, I immediately told Marta Zanetti that she could give us a hand. And when Donisi put her on the field, even though the scoreboard was still at 0-1, we were sure she would do well. The result? A beautiful goal and precious minutes that make us understand how useful it will be in the future as well. But I want to say once again well done to the coach, both for having had the courage to let her play and for trusting all of us without distinction”.
A more psychological than tactical approach, that of the rediscovered Verona coach.
“It has been a very peaceful week. Even at the break with a disadvantage, there was maximum tranquility in the dressing room: he told us we would make it, we kept calm and went to score two good goals in the second half ”.
The last of which by Puttow, to be precise.
“I had already scored in a similar way in A2: a ball came from behind and I touched it first, anticipating the goalkeeper’s exit. So when I called De Angelis and she served me that perfect assist, I thought I should have done the same playing as before: as I fell to the ground, I saw the ball enter slowly. It was a great emotion”.
On the net for three consecutive games and in this case the case has nothing to do with it.
“This summer I worked hard to be ready for the start of the season and do better than last year. Unfortunately – she continues – an injury forced me to stop for a month and a half, but thanks to the staff here in Veneto (the physiotherapist Eleonora Salamon and the athletic trainer Lorenzo Osti) and to the people who followed me from Brazil (see the physiotherapist Sinara, the trainer Paka and the nutritionist Lara), I got back in shape and this is confirmed by the goals scored in important matches, such as the internal one against Molfetta or the last one against Vip”.
In short, it will be a very different Audace who will meet Lazio again in the championship, after the lesson collected in the qualifying round for the Italian Cup.
“After the match we were all very sorry, I can’t tell you why it went that way, I just know that nothing was as we would have liked. Now, however, each of us has managed to come up with something good and we plan to do much better, especially in terms of attitude and nastiness in front of goal. We are training well, Fichera is back more determined than ever and we want to make this recovery last as long as possible”.
Puttow and Donisi could not have met again at a better time.
“I think he’s back with great serenity and this has contributed a lot to his success with the VIP, but I also feel different than I did three years ago: commitments, between training and nutrition, I do whatever it takes to be a professional, but it is by nature that I feel strong. I’m finally reaping the fruits of a lot of work and I hope to carry them forward consistently”.
Build to last, Luana. Her project as a coach also began with these assumptions.
“For 4 years according to a football school with children of about 6 years old and I teach them the basic techniques. I’m very happy because they absorb like sponges, but what I correct for them, then I also need on the pitch. I learn with what I convey, a beautiful look that – why not? – often leads me to think that this could also be my role in the future”.
