City halls of city districts should receive 6.9 billion crowns from Prague for their operation next year, which is more. Deputy Mayor Pavel Vyhnánek (Praha Sobě) told ČTK this after yesterday’s extraordinary meeting of the city council. The amount was proposed by the council’s finance committee and was discussed by the city council yesterday. This year, the city district received 5.7 billion crowns.
The city will increase the money, among other things, due to rising energy prices and wages. Subsequently, the officials will include it in the draft budget, which the city is preparing and which the representatives plan to approve at their meeting on December 15.
According to the first interim draft next year, Prague could manage revenues of CZK 99.65 billion and spend CZK 104.88 billion. Compared to this year, incomes and expenses should be higher, which will affect the growth of energy prices and wages. Income will be affected by inflation. The difference between income and expenditure will be compensated by, among other things, money from the state.
About 20.2 billion crowns are earmarked for investments, but where the money will go will be decided by the new city management. The information document on the preparation of the budget was approved by Prague representatives last week.
The document is now being finalized by the municipality’s budget department, will be discussed by council committees and will then be published on the official notice board. Deputies will discuss the final version of the draft budget on December 15.
For this year, the city has an approved budget with revenues and expenses of 92.6 billion crowns, which is larger. Approximately 19.68 billion crowns are earmarked for investments, of which more than four billion are for the construction of subway D. Most of the expenses go to current expenses, about 70.92 billion crowns, most of the money is intended for transport and education.
