We will not give up the fight against the woke ideology
“Hungary is fighting a war with the European Union against the woke ideology, which is even more important than money,” quoted a The times conservative British daily Balázs Orbán, the prime minister’s political director’s warning to Brussels.
Tomorrow, the European Commission will predictably give the green signal to the Hungarian recovery plan, which will pave the way for our country to receive more than 13 billion euros in support.
The Hungarian government previously agreed on a 17-point package with the European Commission, for the implementation of which several laws were adopted by the parliament. “They told us what they wanted, then we made concrete plans and implemented them. We are now waiting for him to make a decision at the committee meeting scheduled for November 30,” explained Prime Minister Viktor Orbán earlier.
Balázs Orbán pointed out that Hungary is not only fighting with Brussels over recovery money: “If someone thinks that the Hungarians have only one issue with Brussels, which is about money, then they are wrong,” said the head of government’s political director.
He emphasized: especially Brexit, a new process can be observed throughout Europe, in which politically weak governments come to power and the traditional balance of the European Union has disappeared. “The European Commission used to be neutral, bureaucratic in the positive sense of the word, but it is not anymore. He has a political program,” Balázs Orbán pointed out. He added that, in his opinion, blackmail and witch-hunt-like actions are not the means to keep the European Union together, especially in this uncertain period.
No one wants to compromise and no one is willing to understand the other’s point of view. Compromise is a method that has existed since the founding of the EU, but is no longer as strong as it used to be. And that is why we constantly live in the shadow of the culture war
– said the prime minister’s political director.
“The balance has been lost and the institutions have been taken over by political jihadists – which is a strong term, but it’s the closest,” explained the politician, who believes that the recovery funds are secondary to the “culture war” our country is waging. He added: within the EU institutions, the most important thing now is to preserve the flourishing of the woke ideology. In the article of The Times, our country opened the Mathias Corvinus Collegium research institute in Brussels in November in order to successfully act against the ideology of the woke.
Balázs Orbán also gave voice to Hungary’s geopolitical role. He explained that our country is located in the middle of Europe, in the United Kingdom. “Hungarians live in the middle of the continent, we are surrounded by EU member states, and as a result, our fate is different. We have no option to leave the block,” he said.
