Toulouse. Stabbing for a cell phone, two years off for the young aggressor
In the Toulouse metro, an 18-year-old foreigner repeatedly stabbed a young woman to steal her smartphone. He was sentenced to two years in prison and a ban on French territory for ten years.
“I had no intention of hitting. But I was afraid of this girl, and of the police, ”launches the magistrates of the Toulouse judicial court, the defendant, an 18-year-old young man from North Africa. He was tried on November 21 for having stabbed a 22-year-old woman several times after stealing her cell phone.
The facts go back to the night of November 15 to 16, around one o’clock in the morning, in the Trois-Cocus metro station in Toulouse. The young man snatches the mobile phone from the hands of a subway passenger before fleeing the train. As the doors had not yet closed, the victim pursued her assailant, who brandished a knife from his pocket and stabbed her several times in the hands and left shoulder. The two individuals fight and end up falling.
Beatings
The young woman finally managed to recover her smartphone, left behind by the thief who fled. The metro station’s surveillance camera system identified the assailant. The latter was, at the time of the events, accompanied by two friends, who did not intervene in the attack.
“I didn’t think such a violent event was going to happen. I took three kicks in the stomach, one in the head. He strangled me with his forearm. The other two apologized and let me go, ”reports the young victim.
Deeply shocked, she has wounds of several centimeters, a sprained hand, and erosions on the lower limbs. The prosecutor requested five years of imprisonment, and a ban on French territory for ten years for the defendant. He received two years in prison and a ban on French territory during the period claimed by the representative of the public prosecutor.
