It’s quite unprecedented. Friday 2 and Saturday 3 December 2022, garden centers Botanical of Blagnac and Labege, near Toulouse, will offer an adoption weekend like no other. Customers could adopt… laboratory rabbits !
Rabbits used for scientific trials
These rabbits participated in experimental trials in agronomy (the science of cultivable land, editor’s note). In partnership with the association Ethosph’RBotanic will allow its customers to offer a new life to these animals through a “rehabilitation”.
“Rehabilitation consists in providing a retirement to healthy animals at the end of the experimental protocol. Rehabilitation is only possible in cases where the animal is in good physical and psychological health, and that it does not present any risk to the body. “environment or public health”.
50 euros adoption fee
If you are interested, know that you will have to sign a certificate of commitment and knowledge. A mandatory procedure for the adoption of any animal since October 1, 2022.
The Ethosph’R association requests financial compensation of 50 euros to cover adoption costs. “These costs mainly cause the travel of the members/volunteers of the association to be present on the day of the adoptions and make it possible to support the rehabilitation actions of the association in the future. »
When these steps are taken, a follow-up will be set up by the association in order to hear from the animal.
