Dispute between cyclist and driver goes viral
Recordings of an absurd traffic situation split the network community: a heated discussion between cyclists and drivers escalated – and ended in a bang.
A dispute between drivers and a cyclist in Hanover went viral on social networks. A video of the incident shows the bike and car facing each other on the street, next to a parking lot that could be avoided – but neither party wants to buckle.
“I want to keep going, she’s on the bike, but she doesn’t want to keep going,” the filming driver describes the situation at the beginning of the video. The cyclist then pulls out her cell phone. “The obstacles are with you, you have to avoid me!”, the woman replies angrily and asks the driver to swerve to the right.
Only when a second car grabs the cyclist from behind does the standoff dissolve – with a bang, as you can see in the video above or here to be able to see.
Since then, a heated discussion about the incident has erupted on social media: Some are right about the cyclist’s situation – the obstacles are on the side of the car, so they don’t have to dodge. Others accuse the cyclist of only being out for a riot: after all, as a more agile road user, you were able to avoid it much more easily.
