Capital has too much money? Warsaw wants to build Wisła internet tunnels – News
“Apart from the already free tunnel between the Middle Ages railway bridge and Karowa Street considered a joke delving into the course of the street (Wisłostrada) in the tunnel on the section from the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge to Sanguszki Street “- wrote in response to the interpellation of councilman Dariusz Figura, city secretary Włodzimierz Karpiński.
He informed that the possibility of “routing traffic in the tunnel in the section from the intersection with Ludna Street to the Landing Plate of the 3rd Infantry Division and the external exit, the eastern tunnel towards the south beyond the abutments of the medium bridge” is also being considered.
The areas above the tunnels are to be greened.
No time to invest
Project plans will be able to know the benefits by next year. In response to the interpellation, Karpiński wrote that bringing the projects to the public view project “seems possible in the 1st or 2nd treatment of 2023”.
– This is an investment not for these times – thinks councilor Dariusz Figura.
He decided that Wisłostrada cuts off the city by the river, and the new green areas obtained in the study of its depression would bring the city closer to the Vistula. However, they reminded that the primary capital could not complete the investments in need.
– Creating inserts by the Vistula River is the best way that President Trzaskowski actually intends to invest, without considering priorities – said Dariusz Figura.
Just complaining
MP Jarosław Krajewski, the leader of PiS, said at the beginning of November that President Trzaskowski is getting bigger disappointment for the inhabitants of Warsaw.
He noted that for three years at the budget session of the Warsaw Council, the president of the capital complained about the government, but it does not affect our own breasts and was not used because in 2019-2022 he did not build any bypass or any bridge.
Expensive and with what
The Wisłostrada tunnel creating a tunnel raises a lot of controversy. First of all, the cost of construction was shocking – almost PLN 220 million. The construction of the tunnel started in April 2001, it was completed falling asleep in the correct year, however, it remained unused for almost a year due to failing to meet the safety port and postponing the end of opening several times.
Opening of the speed tunnel in August 2003. In turn, in August 2012, the tunnel was closed to traffic due to the washing out of the ground under the tunnel. Failure intended during the construction of the Centrum Nauki Kopernik metro station. Car traffic it was led by detours along the Vistula boulevards and Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie. The city hall planned to create the tunnel by the end of 2012, but it happened only half a year later on June 23, 2013.
