Börse Express – Successful participation of freight forwarders at this year’s WorldSkills in Salzburg
The freight forwarding industry wins bronze at the World Skills Championship thanks to Marko Nebrigic from the Gebrüder Weiss forwarding company
The Austrian participant Marko Nebrigic completed this year’s WorldSkills, which took place from November 23-27, 2022 in Salzburg, with great success. With a lot of expertise and excellent work, he achieved the excellent 3rd place and thus won the bronze medal behind the participants Ke Zhu from China and Jia Ying Lee from Singapore.
“The forwarding industry is taking on the challenge of a professional world championship and we are delighted with the impressive performance of the Austrian participant,” congratulates Alexander Winter, chairman of the forwarding and logistics association in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. “Marko Nebrigic did a great job and can rightly be proud of his courage to face an international competition.”
The head of the training and further education working group in the professional association, Josefine Deiser, also joins in the congratulations: “Marko Nebrigic’s success shows that our Austrian level of training in the forwarding industry is characterized by a high level of quality, which can probably hold its own in an international comparison . A job in the forwarding industry is technically demanding and requires a high level of expertise. If you have good foreign language skills, a high level of motivation and personal commitment, you also have interesting career opportunities in the forwarding industry.”
27,000 jobs and around 800 apprenticeships
The freight forwarding and logistics association in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of around 2,000 Austrian freight forwarders. This makes a significant contribution to employment and prosperity in Austria: The forwarding industry creates around 27,000 jobs, of which 800 are apprentices.
