Belarus introduces tariff quotas for the import of pork and poultry meat in 2023
November 29, Minsk / Corr. BELTA/. In Belarus, quotas for the import of pork and poultry meat were filled in 2023. This is provided for by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of November 26, 2022 No. 812, officially published on National legal Internet portalBelTA informs.
According to the document, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus was instructed to determine by regions for 2023 the volume of tariff quotas for the import of meat and poultry for certain types of pigs, and also to bring them to the attention of the regional executive committees by December 15 this year. The ministry was also instructed to distribute 100% of the volume of tariff quotas for the import of pork and poultry meat to Belarus between registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who declared to the regional executive committees before December 20 about the need for volumes of tariff quotas until January 5, 2023. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food must issue a local explicit act, where this will be a reflection.
Regional executive committees need to submit proposals to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food on the distribution of quotas between registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs by December 27, 2022
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade is authorized to issue import licenses for pork and poultry meat.
