Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci made a statement to the journalists after the Presidential Cabinet Meeting yesterday.
In Minister Kirişci’s post, there was a situation in stray animals and shelters.
WORKING WITH THE GOVERNOR OF ISTANBUL
Minister Kirişci stated that they started a study with the Governorship of Istanbul after the house in Konya. Expressing that there is a lack of space in animal shelters, Minister Kirişci emphasized that shelters should be close to natural life.
Minister Kirişci said, “We are planning to give place to forests. We will remove the shelters of Istanbul by giving place to local governments from forest areas,” and explained that they will not be able to give place to an association or volunteers, but to municipalities.

Expressing that they will enable local governments to use 30 decares of land as natural animal shelters for 39 districts of Istanbul, Kirişci said, “Our validity follows the process.
WORKSHOP WILL BE ORGANIZED
On the other hand, Minister Kirişci stated that they will organize a workshop on the increase in stray animal management in the cities in the future.
Kirişci also stated that they will determine a roadmap with the opinions of teachers and administrators at the workshop.
