Ukraine can get missiles with a radius of up to 150 km from Boeing
The Pentagon is considering the proposal the Boeing company to supply Ukraine is cheap high-precision projectilesthat allow Kyiv to strike far in the rear of the Russian troops at a distance of up to 150 kilometers, informs Reuters.
GLSDB shells can be delivered as early as spring 2023. The shells combine the GBU-39 (SDB) small-diameter bomb with the M26 rocket engine.
The United States rejected requests for an ATACMS missile with a range of 185 miles (297 km), the GLSDB’s range of 94 miles (150 km) allowed Ukraine to strike military targets that were previously unreachable behind the occupiers’ rear.
GLSDBs are GPS-guided, can add some electronic jamming, and can be used in all weather conditions and against armored vehicles.
The M26 rocket motor is relatively affordable, and the GBU-39 costs about $40,000 apiece, making GLSDB shells inexpensive.
Resources for the supply of weapons to Ukraine practically exhausted in 20 of the 30 NATO countries.
These are mostly small countries. More countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, are still able to provide assistance. According to the NYT source, in total, NATO transferred $40 billion worth of arms to Ukraine, which is comparable to the defense budget of France.
