Hungarian light music concert organizers are often criticized for never bringing truly mainstream stars to our country, but on Tuesday night, one of the best-known representatives of electronic music will perform with his band at the Papp László Sportarena.
Bonobo presents his seventh studio album titled Fragments. The artist registered under the name Simon Green recorded his first album in 2000 and was signed by Ninja Tuned, one of the most well-known labels in the electronic scene, thanks to his immediately recognizable rhythm and melody world. The artist considered to be the pioneer of downtempo broke the door on us 10 years later, with his 2010 album Black Sands. His album Fragments, released this year, is his most personal work to date. The record reached number 3 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart and number 5 on the official UK album chart. It received two nominations for the 64th Grammy Awards, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for the song Rosewood.
Even now, there is a good chance that he will receive a Grammy, as Fragments is his most emotionally intense album to date.
This year’s Bonobo concert series, spanning four continents, broke records. In the summer, he performed 5 concerts in a row at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which has never been seen before among electronic music artists. In July, he performed four times in 24 hours at the Glastonbury Festival. He recently finished an Australian tour, and performed at Sonar Barcelona and Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. At the end of the tour, he will go on a concert tour in Europe, including his performance in Budapest on November 29.
