The return of the Ferris wheel, a “colossal” decor, a majestic Christmas tree… This is what the Christmas village in Monaco will look like
While the 21 sales chalets, 21 food stalls, picnic tables, as well as the relaxation area and “entertainment” chalet are being set up on the Quai Albert-1er, the town hall of Monaco specified on Monday the contours of a Christmas village prolonging the events linked to the centenary of the death of Prince Albert 1st.
A “colossal” decor 6 meters high
“Several scenographies are inspired by the different journeys of the Navigator Prince, thus forming a walk that is both fun and instructive for young and old. Through animated scenes, certain animal species of the Arctic will be highlighted: the walrus, the unicorn of the seas, the polar bear and the penguin. The daily life of the explorer will have no more secrets thanks to the reconstitution of a base camp including tent, skis and sled. Finally, a colossal decoration representing the prince Albert 1er at the helm of his ship will overlook the Village in his homage – – 5 meters in diameter and 6 meters in height.”
800 fir trees and a roller track
800 fir trees will adorn the village, including a majestic one 8 meters high.
Around, the Ferris Wheel is back as well as the tree carousel, the carousel, the “toboggan luge” and the Caribou ride.
As a reminder, a roller track replaces the ice rink this year (read below).
