The artistic photographic competition “The Cribs of Friuli Venezia Giulia” is back: the regulation
The competition intends to bring out how much the nativity scene is still widespread and appreciated in Friuli Venezia Giulia: a symbol of religion and tradition, a concrete representation of the union within the families and communities that make it during the Christmas period.
The Pro Loco Regional Committee has mapped thousands of nativity scenes in recent years in various locations thanks to its Giro Presepi, but many others will be known thanks to the competition.
It will also be a way to give credit, with the right visibility in the major Friuli Venezia Giulia newspaper, to the efforts of individuals and associations who, perhaps working on it for twelve months, every Christmas give many people the thrill of admiring cribs living, monumental, mechanical or made with alternative materials.
A real photographic tour which in the end sees the best photos with the subject of a nativity scene made in Friuli Venezia Giulia for Christmas 2022 selected by the technical jury.
The theme of this edition will be “The Nativity scene as a sign of peace: discovering the local Nativity scenes of Friuli Venezia Giulia”: competitors are invited to participate both with photographs of their private and public nativity scenes, provided they are easily recognizable and placed in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The authors of the 4 best photos, which will be chosen weekly for 4 weeks by the quality jury, will receive as many prizes offered by the world of the regional Pro Loco and the publication of their photo in the paper edition of Messaggero Veneto, while a selection of the photos received will be also published on the website www.messaggeroveneto.it. In addition, this year at the end of the competition the photos will be re-evaluated again by the jury for a final prize.
